Accelerated Elementary Reading and Literacy (Grades P–6) - MS in Education

Designed by national experts in the field, through their coursework educators explore current research and practical strategies that can help them increase the achievement of all students, including linguistically, culturally, and academically diverse learners. This specialization addresses teaching digital literacy, managing classroom literacy programs, and effectively engaging students to promote lifelong literacy.

Learning Outcomes


At the end of this program, educator professionals will be able to:

  1. Apply research-based instructional practices to help students in Grades PK–6 achieve Common Core State Standards and other state standards.
  2. Evaluate reading and literacy development of all students in Grades PK–6 including linguistically, culturally, and academically diverse learners.
  3. Apply literacy assessment data appropriately to inform reading and literacy instruction in Grades PK–6.
