The Healthcare Informatics concentration focuses on the use of information systems in the healthcare industry. Students focus on specialized needs related to privacy and security of patient data, use and management of data generated by diagnostic equipment, and policies and practices of information management in healthcare systems.
Choose 11 courses from general education, BS in Computer Information Systems, or other Walden bachelor’s degree programs. Elective credits should total 55 to meet program requirements (at least 20 credits must be upper level). Students may also be eligible to transfer previous credit to meet elective requirements.
Note on minors: Electives can also be used to complete a six-course minor. Individual course prerequisites apply.
