ACCT 1001 - Accounting I


(5 cr.) An introduction to accounting, this course presents the basic techniques and procedures of accounting for organizations. Students completing this course are expected to understand the policies and procedures in an accounting system; be able to prepare basic financial statements; understand the acceptable methods of valuing assets, liabilities, and owner’s equity, and appreciate the value of computer technology in accounting. (Prerequisite(s): MATH 1001 OR MATH 1002 OR STAT 3001, AND BUSI 1001 OR HLTH 4000. For B.S. in Healthcare Management students only: MATH 1030 or MATH 1040.)
