STAT 3001 - Statistical Methods and Applications


(5 cr.) This course is designed to provide the student with a foundation in statistical methodology and use of critical judgment in analyzing data sets. Topics include descriptive statistics, hypothesis testing, confidence intervals, t-test, one-way analysis of variance, correlation, and some non-parametric methods (e.g., chi-square tests). Upon completion, students will be comfortable analyzing and applying statistics to research problems and to everyday life situations. (Prerequisite(s): COMM 1001.)
