SOCI 4080 - Social Responsibility


(5 cr.) Technological advancements, globalization, and other 21st-century dynamics that bring individuals together provide a means and a responsibility to work collectively for the common good. This course provides an interdisciplinary synthesis of learning for students through the lens of civic engagement and social responsibility. Students engage in assignments that emphasize problem-solving in contemporary society. They explore the history of social responsibility and issues related to social change, civic engagement, and the media. In this course, students develop awareness and skills to sustain and advance the communities in which they live.
  (Prerequisite(s): All other required general education courses completed.) Note: This course is delivered over a 6-week term but is equated to SOCI 4080E, which is delivered over a 12-week term.
