COMM 3001E - Applied Interpersonal Communication♦ (5 cr.) In this course, students have the opportunity to examine the cognitive and affective aspects of communication, thus increasing self-awareness. They explore acceptance, perception, emotional intelligence, self-presentation, learning styles, models of human information processing, and aspects of the psychology of language. Through a comprehensive self-assessment, students gain insight into their ability to communicate, manage conflict, influence others, and work effectively with those who have different values and beliefs. (Prerequisite(s): COMM 1004.) ♦ Students may take this as a non-degree course, which means they do not have to be enrolled in a program.
