With a focus on fluency and comprehension, this course explores a wide range of research-based instructional practices. Learn how to make reading less isolating by using technology to create collaborative experiences. Discuss ways to combat reading decline in older students, and consider ways to encourage and motivate students as they build literacy skills.
Learn how to:
- Plan and implement appropriate reading skills assessments.
- Use word study and vocabulary to help improve reading fluency.
- Create textual arrangements that engage students based on their interests.
- Identify and implement intervention strategies for struggling readers.
