PSYC 1003E - Psychology as a Social Science♦

(5 cr.) Contemporary psychology is, in many ways, the study of how people interact, relate, and develop as members of society. In this course, part of a two-course sequence, students are introduced to the principal theories, topics, and applications related to the social science aspects of psychology, including psychological adjustment and social, developmental, cultural, personality, and psychological disorders. Students apply what they learn to case studies and real-life examples, focusing on how individuals are influenced by their environments. Note: This course is delivered over a 12-week term, but is equated to PSYC 1003, which is delivered over a 6-week term.
♦Students may take this as a non-degree course, which means they do not have to be enrolled in a program. Contact an Enrollment Advisor [1-866-492-5336 (U.S.); 1-443-627-7222 (toll)] for more information.
