PSYC 5740 - Disaster, Crisis, and Trauma


(5 cr.) Students in this course examine disaster, crisis, trauma, and their psychological impact on individuals, families, and communities. Students apply assessment and intervention strategies to a broad range of topics, including terrorism and genocide, combat and war, natural disasters, school crises, childhood trauma, and sexual assault and partner violence. The emphasis of the course is on the importance of culturally appropriate service delivery programs and interventions for individuals, families, and communities affected by disaster, crisis, and trauma.
